I aim to get to know the child and adolescent as a whole person, to disentangle the difficult feelings behind their behaviour. I provide a safe space for them to explore their thoughts and feelings in their own way.

Paulina Castillo
Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist
Paulina is a warm and friendly therapist specialising in work with children, adolescents and young people between the ages of 5 and 25 years old. She has extensive training from the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust with experience in both the NHS , in primary and secondary schools and with Place2Be – one of the the leading voluntary sector organisations providing therapy for children locally.
Paulina recognises the many stresses on children and young people facing life’s developmental challenges in today’s busy, achievement-oriented environment. In the therapy session Paulina aims to provide a safe, calm space where your child or young person can feel free to connect with and express their thoughts and feelings and understand how they link to their behaviour. She helps your child or young person make sense of these thoughts and feelings, looking at everything that is going on for them at the moment as well as what has happened in the past. She guides them to process and manage these thoughts and feelings in a more useful way, facilitating their healthy emotional development, growth of self esteem and confidence.
Paulina works well with parents/carers. She is interested in their concerns and is keen to use their input to gain a clearer picture of the particular difficulties and to understand how she can work together with them.
As well as being fluent in English Paulina can offer therapy in Spanish.
