I am passionate about the benefits of therapeutic work with young people, enabling them to understand themselves, the world around them and how they relate to it, to help bring about change in how they feel and think about themselves and their lives.

Kirsten Duncan
Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist
Kirsten is an experienced Child and Adolescent Counsellor and Psychotherapist working with young people between the ages of 5 and 25. Following a successful career in teaching, she retrained with an MSc at Birkbeck College, London. She has a wealth of experience, working with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, suicide ideation, depression, bereavement, eating disorders, self-harm, anger management, abuse and relationship difficulties with family or friends.
Kirsten is empathetic and recognises how important it is to foster a strong and trusting relationship with the young person. Psychodynamically trained, she works with the young person to explore what they find difficult in their life and understand where patterns of behaviour and ways of relating to others stem from. Knowing the root of an issue, the young person can begin to challenge their responses and change how they react to people and events.
MSc Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy with Children and Adolescents. Accredited Member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP)
